JSC
PEGASUS
A unique soccer development program, JSC Pegasus provides
young soccer players a fun and challenging environment in which to
improve their control and confidence with the ball.
THE PURPOSE
Children develop proper techniques and skills much easier at an earlier
age. The Pegasus Program gives players the necessary technical base to
grow in the game through correct instruction of the fundamentals.
WHO IT IS FOR
The program is open to all recreational soccer players currently in the
U9 and U10 age groups. In addition, JSC staff members may invite U8 boys
and girls they feel would benefit from playing with older players.
Boys and girls looking to participate in the JUSC Select Program in the
future will benefit tremendously from these sessions.
COACHING
JSC Pegasus sessions will be organized and directed by
members of the club’s professional coaching staff. Each staff member
brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience, along with an
ability to effectively communicate with children in a positive and
enthusiastic manner.
Through a series of individual exercises and small-sided games, coaches
will instruct players in: dribbling, ball control, passing, and
shooting. Sessions will focus on improving each player’s technique and
confidence with the ball in these areas of the game.
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Players develop at different rates. Therefore, multiple
training groups will be created to place players in situations where
they will simultaneously be challenged and have success.
By doing this we aim to achieve our goals of:
1) Creating an environment for advanced players within this age range
which is accelerating and challenging.
2) Give all players an opportunity to develop improved skill with the
ball and the confidence to take these skills and apply them in a
game-setting with their current teams.
SCHEDULE
Pegasus sessions will be held:
Mondays- April 14, 21, 28; May 5, 12, 19
6:30pm-7:30pm
at the Johnston Soccer Complex South-Side Field #9 (Near the concession
stand)

REC PLUS
U9 and U10 Boys and Girls participating on a JSC Recreational
team are automatically enrolled in this program that provides one training
session per week under the guidance of the club’s professional staff. In
addition, Rec Plus offers weekly small-sided games for players to showcase their
skill and talent.
Rec Plus Starts April 8th and April 10th
Sessions run Tuesdays or Thursdays from 6:00pm - 7:20pm at the Johnston Soccer
Complex North Fields #3 and #4.
Why REC PLUS
• To provide a better program and a more
enjoyable overall experience. The REC-PLUS program is based around LOTS OF FUN
and learning technique and skills.
• To provide additional support for affected parent coaches. Parent coaches
can use the weekly “REC-PLUS” sessions to gain ideas for their practice that
week or for the future.
• To develop a Club mentor program for the benefit of older and younger
players. It will be great for our U9 and U10 kids to see effective older
players teach them new skills.
How REC PLUS works
• All U9 and U10 teams will select either
Tuesday or Thursday as their REC PLUS practice session. An individual player
may opt to attend either session if they cannot attend their team’s selected
REC-PLUS practice session.
• Each team’s parent coach will organize 6 to 8 team practices per season in
addition to REC PLUS for the team that they have been appointed to coach (this
equates to a similar amount of sessions as most teams currently schedule).
Game scheduling and team grouping are not altered in any way.
• JSC Director of Coaching will devise a suitable curriculum and program for
the benefit of all players. This will be available to coaches and parents upon
request.
• REC PLUS sessions will be led by JSC pro coaches and assisted by other part
time staff coaches and senior youth competitive players.

JUNIOR ACADEMY
Children’s early experiences of a sport are vital in creating an enjoyment and
lifelong love. For most children this enjoyment is realized when they have the
ball. Designed for children U5-U8, Jr. Academy sessions maximize the number of
touches each player gets on the ball through a series of fun activities and
small-sided games. Players are provided large amounts of
encouragement and entertainment by JSC staff members.
Whether your child has just started playing or they have been involved in
recreational soccer for a number of years, the Jr. Academy provides a great
foundation for young players to grow in the game.
